Months ago when I started my Substack (originally posted to Substack) I’d definitely meant to keep going…but life and health got in the way. After a very dry art season, necessarily so due to health and working on managing my newly high levels of anxiety, I decided that an art challenge would be just what I needed. I’d done Inktober in October last year, and I had found a list that gave all sorts of other, similar challenges for other months. I didn’t want to wait around for Inktober to do some more art. Not that I’ve not been anxious before. Not that I’ve not had anxiety. But recently was a perfect storm of heartburn that didn’t resolve quickly and a surge of massive anxiety. Both were fueling the other for a few days while I was working on figuring out how to exist and manage. I’ve gotten little good sleep because of heartburn off and on and it was worse at night, of course. Which led to night time scaries where my anxiety would spike as soon as it was getting dark or close
